I specialise in capturing genuine moments: the quiet magic of a Highland wedding, the warmth of your family together, and the joy of learning photography with clear, friendly guidance.
From windswept cliffside vows and golden glen elopements to cosy family sessions and milestone portraits, I work across Caithness, Sutherland, the Scottish Highlands and travel throughout the UK for destination weddings. Polyfoto Style Session
The price is £50 for one child, £75 for 2 kids, £90 for 3. If you are an adult and would love to get this done then the same price applies. You will receive a contact sheet with 48 images for each sitter and all your images in an online gallery to view and order prints. The images will be supplied as black & white and in colour.
After you receive the contact sheet of the 48 images, you can choose to enlarge any of the images individually or you can enlarge the contact sheet itself. This has proved to be a very popular option. You can also choose to make prints with a different number of images, maybe selecting your 9 favourite images which will be arranged in a grid to make a square print. There are a lot of options available as well as albums and other products.
The History of the Polyfoto
The Famous 48 Sheet for perfect enlargements.
Introduced in 1933, Polyfoto had studios in most major cities across the UK, the nearest to Caithness being Benzie & Miller in Inverness. With a special Polyfoto, crank-handled camera, 48 exposures were photographed on a glass plate.
The customer was sent a proof sheet of the 48 poses. From this sheet they could order enlargements of the best poses or booklets and cards of the smaller proof copy size. The proof sheet was often cut up and the small 1.25 inch square images were used as well as any enlargements purchased by the customer.
The hay-day of the Polyfoto was during the war years with the images given away as parting gifts usually with poignant notes on the back. These simple photographs were carried in purses & wallets.
The Polyfoto often captured the personality of the sitter in a way that a formal portrait could sometimes miss. The photographer would chat to the sitter to put them at ease which often induced a genuine smile.
The business died a death with the introduction of coin operated photo booths. How many homes in Caithness still have these tiny photos, who remembers having these done as children? I would love to hear any stories anyone might have about the Polyfoto. Maybe Polyfoto had mobile studios that visited Caithness? The only reason I even know about them are the Polyfotos taken of my parents, there are 3 tiny framed photos of my dad in the house and I always wondered why they were so tiny, now I know they were Polyfotos. My granny has 2 complete Polyfoto sheets of my mum at different ages.
I have developed a love for the famous Polyfoto 48 sheet & would love to revive this simple idea. I have taken 48 images from a recent studio shoot of little Lilia and placed them into the 48 sheet format and I think it’s super cute!

Cake Smash & Splash Sessions - Happy 1st Birthday!

Studio Sessions can take place throughout the week between 10am and 3pm or outwith these times by arrangement. Booking is not essential but recommended so I can make time for your visit.
There are a variety of backdrops that can be used. If there is a style of studio portraits you would like, for example, highly or lowkey, then please let me know so I can organise your visit.
The session fee is £65
After the session you will receive an online gallery for viewing your images. You can purchase prints direct from your online gallery, digital images can be purchased for £35 each or the full gallery of images can be purchased for £300

Newborn Lifestyle Sessions are held in the comfort of your own home with a relaxed, unposed/baby led natural style. The shoot will last up to 2 hours and can also include parents, siblings & pets.
You will receive an online gallery of all the edited images, where you can order prints or download the images for home printing. You will have the rights to reproduce your images as you wish but the copyright of your images will remain with me.
Albums and other products can be purchased after the session.
FREE SESSION
All Newborn Lifestyle sessions booked with me will receive a complimentary 6 Month Sitter Session at my Wick studio. This special follow‑up session is all about capturing your little one at around 6 months old, or once they can sit unaided, such a precious time, full of new expressions and big smiles. Outdoor sessions can take place anywhere in Caithness, outwith this area may incur travel expenses.
These outdoor sessions are £400 which covers a 1.5 hour session with full gallery download of all the edited images.

Box Sessions are a great way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion. Sessions can be themed for any event, Valentines, Easter, Summer, Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, etc.
Props can be provided or you can use your own.
The price for the Box Session is £115 which covers the session fee and a digital copy of a 9 image layout. You will receive an online gallery of all the images taken at the session where you can pick your favourite 9 images for the final image.
